Lawrence Man Found Fatally Wounded Has Been Identified

LAWRENCE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A man who was found fatally shot in Lawrence on Friday has been identified, officials announced on Monday.

Lawrence Police found 24-year-old Christopher Garcia of Lawrence suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen late Friday night. Garcia was transported to Lawrence General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, according to Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker.

Just before midnight, Lawrence Police Department received several 911 calls reporting shots fired and a man down around 216 Walnut Street, District Attorney Tucker's office said.

The incident is under investigation by members of the Essex County District Attorney’s Office State Police Detective Unit and Lawrence Police detectives. No other information is known at this time.
