BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- The Red Sox wrapped up their series in Tampa with three straight wins, but totaled just six runs along the way.
Their offense came alive last night, though, in the opener of a two-game set in Miami with seven runs, including homers from Mookie Betts and Hanley Ramirez.
Ramirez is batting .294 with an .863 OPS, and he's right. Boston's won its last four to improve to an East-leading 4-and-1, and its rotation has been a huge part of the success.
Sox starters have allowed just three runs over 30 innings after one full turn through the rotation.
Chris Sale started the stretch with six shutout frames against the Rays and he'll try to extend that run opposite the Fish tonight at 6:10 p.m.
Except maybe this time the bullpen won't blow it if the ace limits Miami's bats to a hit with nine strikeouts.
Marlins will counter with Jose Urena. The righty gave up five runs in four innings to the Cubs Opening Day. He's never faced the Red Sox, and has a 4-23 career ERA at home.
