Student Told By Police and School To Stay Away From School Over Threat

DUDLEY, MA (WBZ-AM) -- Cosmo Casamassa is sixteen years old and was to have attended his final day as a sophomore at Sheppard Hill Regional High School in Dudley on Thursday.

Instead, he stayed home after school administrators and Dudley Police told him another student called the teen a threat Cosmo’s step-mother says a text had gone out saying that he was going to blow up the school.

Cosmo tells WBZ-TV bullies it teased him all year “I'm not popular and I'm kind of weird when it comes down to it in the long run and I understand the spiel how to expect that people are different”

School officials say they had to err on the side of caution and the decision had to be made without the benefit of time to research where the threats came from.
