BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Red Sox have lost consecutive games for the first time in almost a month. They haven't dropped three in a row since the end of April, and hopefully that's still true by the end of the night.
Sox and Indians will play the second of their four-game set at Fenway. Nathan Eovaldi's set to start opposite rookie Shane Bieber. Eovaldi's 2-0 with a 1.99 ERA in four starts since joining Boston. Two of those games came at Fenway, where he pitched 15 scoreless innings while allowing seven hits. He has a 2.70 career ERA opposite the Tribe. Bieber's 6-2 with a 4.37 ERA. He's never faced the Sox.
Alex Cora's expecting another intense night at the ballpark.
"We've been playing this type of baseball for a while," Cora said. "I think the division that we're playing in, you better take it serious like this. That's a good baseball team. Very similar to us, very similar. Can run the bases, they hit it out of the ballpark from top to bottom, they play good defense, and they have good pitching. You look at them, and they look like us over there. Very dynamic. They can hit the ball out of the ballpark, they can come back just like we do. You have to earn all 27 outs."
First pitch is at 7:10 p.m.
