Red Sox Head To Puerto Rico With The World Series Trophy

BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM)--The Boston Red Sox are taking the World Series trophy on tour. The first stop is Puerto Rico and Manager Alex Cora's hometown of Caguas. A collection of players, coaches and front office personal along with owner Tom Werner are making the trip courtesy of JetBlue.  The Airline is flying them there in their Red Sox themed plane. To celebrate the World Champs, the carrier is donating $1 to a charity of Cora’s choosing for every passenger flying on the special aircraft in November.

the team will be met in San Juan, by Caguas Mayor William Miranda Torres who will escort the group to his city, 16 miles south of the Puerto Rican capital. expected on the trip are Red Sox pitcher David Price, utility man Brock Holt, catcher Sandy Leon, pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez, and catcher Christian Vazquez, another Puerto Rico native.
