GLOUCESTER (WBZ-AM) — Hundreds gathered in Gloucester, Mass. Saturday to honor baseball player and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) patient Pete Frates at the 2018 Freezin’ for a Reason polar plunge. The event aimed to raise awareness about ALS.

Frates' freinds, family, and individuals moved by his story attended the event. Frates was in the hospital with pneumonia and could not be in attendance.
