WORCESTER (WBZ-AM) -- Here's a fundraiser you can raise your glass to.

Since the December death of Worcester Firefighter Christopher Roy, a flood of financial support has come in. The devoted single father left behind a nine-year-old daughter, Ava.

Now, two local breweries--Wormtown Brewery and Wachusett Brewing Company--are brewing a special batch of beer called Worcester's Bravest, with proceeds going to the Ava Roy Fund.

"We had a normal reaction like most people, it was like, what could we do?" TJ Morse of Wachusett Brewing told WBZ-TV.

"This is about firefighters and Worcester's bravest and what they do for us every day in this city," David Field from Wormtown Brewery told WBZ-TV.

The beer will be available at both brewing houses by February. Field said that, between the two breweries, they hoped to raise around $40,000 for the foundation.

"It's a nice Belgian-style witbier, super tasty, light, easy-drinking," Morse said.

Worcester's Bravest is the first collaboration between the two breweries.
