MANFIELD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) -- The Mansfield police department decided to get creative with it's plea the get drivers to clear their vehicles of snow this winter.
The tongue-in-cheek video for a fictional "snow enforcer"—just a simple snow brush—is now going viral after being posted on the department's Facebook page.
Mansfield Police Chief Ron Sellon told WBZ NewsRadio's Doug Cope the video is a good way to get the basic message across.
"When we get the opportunity to really take a kind or a humorous tact when it comes to an issue, we try to, where it seems appropriate," Chief Sellon said. "This was one of them, and with the snow coming up, this seems like a really appropriate time ... to go out and just rotely remind everybody to clean off their cars is one thing, but to really capture peoples' attention and get them laughing about it and then talking about it and then sharing it among their friends is another thing altogether."
The department reminds drivers to "Clear Snow Before You Go."
