Mass COVID-19 Vaccination Site Opens At Former Circuit City In Dartmouth

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Another mass COVID-19 vaccination site opened in Massachusetts on Wednesday at an old Circuit City retail space in Dartmouth.

The states's sixth mass vaccination location will be open seven days a week starting Feb. 24th.

Workers at the Dartmouth site have started out administering 500 doses of the vaccine per day, with a goal to increase to 2,000 doses per day.

Although the site is accepting patients on an appointment-only basis, and as of Wednesday, all appointments there were booked.

However, Gov. Charlie Baker said around 50,000 new vaccine appointments will be added to the website Thursday for locations across the Commonwealth, including at Fenway Park, Gillette Stadium, Springfield, Danvers, Dartmouth and Natick.

Circuit City in Dartmouth isn't the only giant empty retail space to serve as a coronavirus vaccine location. Another mass vaccination site opened Monday at an old Sears store at the Natick Mall.
