COVID Cases Hit New Low In Latest State Report Sunday

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — COVID-19 numbers in Massachusetts continued to improve Sunday, as cases dropped to their lowest level since late September. Just 146 cases and 4 deaths were reported by the Department of Public Health on Sunday.

A look at the raw data showed that the last time cases were that low was September 22, 2020, when the state reported 143 cases on a single day. The 7-day average of cases was 226 cases a day over the last week. There were 26,481 tests reported Sunday.

236 people were reported in the hospital from COVID-19 on Sunday, with 74 in the ICU. The 7-day average of percent positivity was also down, at just 0.66%.
