MEDFORD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A libel case filed against student staff at the Tufts Daily was dismissed with prejudice on Friday.
The counsel of both the plaintiff and defendants filed a joint stipulation for the dismissal of the libel case with prejudice and without costs. The agreement also stated that all rights to appeal have been waived, with each party subject to their attorney's fees.

The case originated out of the Tufts Daily's coverage on a tenant union protest that happened outside orthodontic practice "The Braces Place" in Somerville, as protestors spoke out against LaCourt Realty LLC and their alleged rent practices. The plaintiff, Mouhab Rizkallah of Winchester, develops and rents residential and commercial real estate under the name LaCourt Realty.
Rizkallah had sued the Daily's Editor in Chief Alexander Janoff and Deputy News Editor Emily Thompson for their article covering the protest, namely on details concerning the attendees and whether or not there was a singular tenant of LaCourt Realty LLC at the event. Rizkallah said in his lawsuit that there was one tenant he and his staff recognized.
