ALBANY, N.H. (WBZNewsRadio) - A Cambridge man is recovering after taking a tumble while rock climbing with friends in the area of Sundown Ledge in Albany, New Hampshire.

It was around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday evening when Jiwon Han fell. Witnesses said he was 20 feet up when a piece of bolted protection released, causing him to fall. The 25 year old sustained serious injuries to both legs.

He was stabilized and taken down the hiking trail by rescue litter, from there he was taken to Memorial Hospital in North Conway.

Then on Monday New Hampshire Fish and Game responded to the Weetamoo Trail on Mt. Chocorua for an injured hiker from Pembroke, Massachusetts. 18 year old Alyssa Chahed had severely hurt her ankle while climbing down the trail with two friends. She was about 2 miles from the trailhead when the group called for help.

Chahed was rescued via litter and driven to get medical attention by her friends.

Fish and Game Conservation Officers responded to several other rescues over the last few days including an injured solo hiker near the summit of Middle Mountain in North Conway and an injured climber on Cathedral Ledge in the Barber Wall area.

Officials are now encouraging anyone using hiking or climbing trails in the granite state to purchase a Hike Safe Card, which helps support Fish and Game search and rescue efforts.
