HOLDEN, Mass. (WBZNewsRadio) - A contractor in Holden may want to go back to "Shcool" after a typo is painted on the road near Mountview School.

The spelling error appeared on the road two weeks ago and the Town informed the contractor.

"Due to recent weather conditions they have not been able to return to repaint the text." The Town of Holden wrote in a release. "We expect it to be corrected shortly and we are eternally grateful for everyone's input on this matter."

Dozens of people responded to the Town's post on social media, many joined in to make light of the error, saying "mistakes happen." Others urged the Town to keep the mistake

"I think they should leave it." One person wrote. "Every time a student says "Why are we leaving this, we're never going to use it," the teacher can point to the misspelling and say "The person that painted the road asked that same question and look what happened."
