Five People Hospitalized After Wall Collapse At Bedford Construction Site

BEDFORD, Mass. (WBZNewsRadio) - Several people have been hospitalized after getting trapped, when a wall collapsed at a home under construction this morning.

Bedford Police and Fire departments responded to just after 7:30 a.m. to 61 Dunster Road and discovered several people trapped under a wall. A total of five people were pulled from the collapse and taken to the hospital. One person suffered life-threatening injuries.

A Bedford Firefighter was also injured but was treated on scene.

Bedford's building inspector said the initial findings indicate the collapse happened because of improper construction techniques. Next, the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will conduct their own investigation into what led up to the collapse.
