BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A local park in Boston’s South End attracts lots of four legged visitors. A gathering place for dogs to play and for their owners to get to know each other too. The residents who benefit from the park also pitch in to help maintain it as well.

“It’s really nice for the neighborhood to have a place to gather and have a safe space for all the dogs to go [and] I think it’s a good community gathering spot”, said one resident.

The love for the park led to the creation of “Friends of Peters Park”, a non-profit organization created by residents who raise money to help maintain the space and keep it going strong for 2024 and beyond.

“Oh I think it’s great we live in the neighborhood, and we come maybe three, four or five times a week”, I think if anyone can find a little bit to contribute to something like this I think it’s a really beautiful thing”, said another.
