Ahead Of Veteran's Day, Boston Musician Donates $100,000 To Homeless Vets

Adam Ezra presents the staff of the New England Center and Home For Veterans (NECHV) with a $100,000 check for homeless veterans.

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Ahead of Veteran's Day, a Boston-based musician and his band have raised and donated $100,000 to homeless veterans in the region. Adam Ezra, of the Adam Ezra Group, raised the money from his music festival, The Ramble, through his non-profit RallySound.

Ezra dropped off the check to the New England Center and Home For Veterans (NECHV) before in Downtown Boston before the band's homecoming show in late October. The band says the money is enough to help 100 homeless veterans in New England, a sizable chunk of the estimated 1100-1500 homeless veterans in the region.

The money from the 13th annual festival was raised from voluntary donations, as attendance was free.

Ezra called it a "humbling ride to be on these days."

"I think I probably speak for everyone involved when I say it's our most exhausting, and favorite thing we do every year," he said.

Overall, veterans make up a disproportionate percentage of the total homeless population in the United States: more than 33,000 were counted in the most recent census this year.
