ANDOVER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A winter storm swept through the region Monday with the amount of snow depending on location.

A mix of precipitation made for a messy morning commute.

North and west of Rte.128 was seeing the most snow with up to eight inches expected in some spots.

Merrimack Valley was one of the areas getting mostly snow.

Mike from Andover was at a service station this morning filling up his gas tank as he prepared for his commute into Boston. He was cleaning the snow off his car and said he was surprised at the amount of snow. "It's 3-4 inches now which is definitely more that I thought we'd get," he said. "I'm trying to get to Boston to go coach over at B.U. (Boston University), but I think the roads will be ok. There's always less snow when you get towards Boston."

And that indeed was the case today as in and around Boston only had a coating to an inch of snow.
