DANVERS, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — With temperatures finally reflecting a regular New England fall season on Monday, barn animals at Endicott Park in Danvers are trying their best to stay warm— an effort that requires plenty of blankets and a shift in grass locations.

WBZ's Drew Moholland was on scene to find out how the animals are keeping cozy at the farm, and spoke to animal keeper Tyler about the process.

"We supplement hay for the grass now that they can't access the growing grass. With the freezing temperatures, we usually get out there and change the buckets as often as we can if they're starting to freeze over so the animals have access to fresh water all day," Tyler said.

Monty the goat and Rosie the pig were spotted hanging out in the barn— Rosie, the so-called "Hibernating Pig" was seen fashioning a cowl.

"She's a pig in a blanket— she spends most of her winters just hanging out in there, we bring her sleeping bags and mattresses. Down in the barn not much changes, it stays pretty warm in here in the winter," Tyler said.
