BCBS Sponsoring Free Bluebikes Adventure Passes Every Monday In August

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts will foot the bill for Bluebikes rides every Monday during the month of August, the health care company announced.

Beginning Monday, Aug. 7, the state's largest health plan is sponsoring free Bluebikes Adventure Passes as part of its third annual "Mindful Mondays" initiative. An Adventure Pass includes an unlimited number of two-hour rides during a 24-hour period.

The free rides will be available across the system's 13 municipalities in the Greater Boston area: Arlington, Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, Chelsea, Everett, Malden, Medford, Newton, Revere, Salem, Somerville, and Watertown.

In order to access the complimentary Adventure Passes, riders must download the Bluebikes app and enter the appropriate code on the specific Monday.

Additionally, BCBS announced a free 60-minute Bluebikes spin class on Aug. 28, the final Monday of the month, at Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park in Boston. The event will be first come first serve.
