ST. PAUL, Minn. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Green Line Rivalry will not be the NCAA Men's Hockey National Championship game this year.

Only one of Boston's schools made it to the Frozen Four final after Thursday night's semifinal games. Top-ranked Boston College shut out the University of Michigan 4-0 to punch the Eagles' ticket to the National Championship game while Boston University lost 2-1 in overtime to the University of Denver.

The Eagles got off to a great start in their semifinal after scoring in less than 90 seconds before doubling and tripling their lead in the second period with two goals less than a minute apart.

The Terriers took the lead in their semifinal in the first period but squandered it in the second. Denver's Tristan Broz won the game for the Pioneers in overtime.

Had the Terriers won, both Boston College and Boston University would have faced off for the fifth time this year. They each finished the season ranked first and second in the nation respectively.

However, the season series was lopsided in the Eagles' favor. Boston College won three of the pair's four matchups this season, including the Hockey East championship.

Boston College will face off against the University of Denver on Saturday, April 13 at 6 p.m. on ESPN2. Both teams played earlier this season in Chesnut Hill with the Pioneers beating the Eagles 4-3.
