Boston Dynamics Rings In New Year With Dancing Robots

WALTHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Robots have already started taking our jobs, but now they're taking our dance moves too.

Boston Dynamics is ringing in the new year with a new video that depicts humanoid and other robots dancing to the song "Do You Love Me" by the Contours.

The Waltham-based engineering and robotics design company posted the video to YouTube and social media channels, writing "Our whole crew got together to celebrate the start of what we hope will be a happier year. Happy New Year from all of us at Boston Dynamics.”

One robot in the video begins with a basic two-step and arm-swaying routine, and then shifts into more complex moves. It's later joined by three more, including a four-legged machine named "spot" and a bot that resembles an ostrich.

The video has racked up over 3.8 million views on YouTube, some users calling it funny, while others say it is creepy, and a sign of the human vs. robot war to come.
