BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Older sometimes is better.

Open since 1826, Boston's Union Oyster House has been ranked one of the 'most legendary restaurants in the world'.

It's the oldest continuously operating restaurant in the nation.

This latest recognition comes courtesy of 'Taste Atlas' which has compiled a list of the 150 best legendary restaurants worldwide.

Listed at number 43, the website features the Oyster House's iconic dish as New England clam chowder.

Taste Atlas says the restaurants they picked are not just places to grab a meal, but destinations in their own right, such as museums and monuments.

The Oyster House's building was listed as a National Historic Landmark on May 27, 2003.
