Boston Police Arrest Two Suspected Of Stealing Copper Wire In Brighton

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Early Saturday morning, Boston police officers responded to a construction site on 130 Chestnut Hill Avenue in Brighton for reports of two individuals trespassing.

Reports to police claimed there was a larceny in progress, and upon arrival, officers found two suspects within the work site. Authorities arrested Jamal Stephen of Dorchester and Lorenzo Beechman of Hyde Park for allegedly loading 18 spools of copper wiring into a pickup truck owned by Beechman.

Police say the suspects did not have permission to be on the premise at the time.

Both suspects were charged with Breaking and Entering a Building or Ship; Intent to Commit a Felony and Larceny, and were scheduled to be arraigned in Brighton District Court.
