BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — It came as no surprise for Bostonians when a recent ranking of the most beautiful autumn cities put Boston in the top five.

United Kingdom hotel chain Premier Inn ranked Boston as the fourth most beautiful autumn city. They used eye-tracking software and presented pictures of many different cities, recording how long each participant lingered on an image.

Although Boston’s high placement was expected, New Englanders were shocked to see Chicago ranked above Boston at number two.

“It makes no sense to me. Chicago is just concrete and pavement,” said a loyal Bostonian.

Lily, who recently moved to Boston, is excited to see if Boston lives up to the high ranking.

“I have only just moved here so I haven’t had a fall yet, but it does seem really pretty,” said Lily.

Originally from the United Kingdom, she was familiar with the number one city Bath, England, and how they topped the ranking.

“Maybe the combination of the leaves and the pretty buildings is why it’s number one because it’s very, very beautiful,” said Lily.
