BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — After its derailment earlier this week, the Red Line resumed regular service Wednesday morning but officals say there will be speed restrictions in place between South Station and Broadway until further notice.

Passenger and Red Line rider Gabrielle told WBZ NewsRadio she was relieved to hear the T has re-railed, “If it didn’t get back on track this morning, I would not be able to get to school on time.”

The incident happened after a train car rammed the platform at Broadway station at a slow rate of speed. Dozens of passengers had to evacuate from the six-car train but T spokesman Joe Pesaturo confirmed that there were no injuries on board.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident.

This is the latest accident involving the MBTA, after an incident over the weekend. On Sunday, an escalator malfunctioned and left 9 people injured in the Back Bay. In March, a similar derailment happened on the Orange Line at Wellington Station.
