BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — It was a picture-perfect day for the second annual Boston Children's Recreation Festival, also known as 'Rec Fest,' held today at Franklin Park.

The event is a festival for kids, designed by kids.

One of the day's big attractions was the inflatable obstacle course. There was also a giant bubble machine.

Mavrick Afonso is Franklin Park's Program Manager. He talked about the effort behind putting on the day's event. "We had somewhere around 30 youth volunteers helping out," he said. "Some are workers from different sports centers, some are from our recreational programming throughout the city."

While the festival focused on recreational and educational activities, it was also about just plain having fun.
