BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston Bruins left wing Milan Lucic arrived to Boston Municipal Court Tuesday morning to face assault and battery charges.
Lucic pleaded not guilty, and was released on personal recognizance on the condition he refrain from drinking alcohol and from abusing the alleged victim.
The Bruins veteran, who only returned to the team this year, is accused of pulling his wife's hair backwards at their North End apartment early Saturday. Police say Lucic appeared to have been intoxicated when officers arrived. Lucic's wife claims the hockey player assaulted her after he accused her of hiding his cell phone.

Lucic's next court date is on January 19 for a pre-trial court hearing.
The Bruins have since put Lucic on an indefinite leave of absence.
