BURLINGTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Burlington is the best place to live if you are looking for a suburban haven with an urban vibe, according to a recent analysis.

Storage company Storage-Cafe ranked 40 Massachusetts cities and towns with populations ranging from 10,000 to 100,000. The criteria included housing diversity, affordability, demographics, health, education, safety, public transportation, lifestyle-related amenities, business environment, new construction, and self storage availability and cost.

Burlington took the top spot on the list for its businesses, healthcare facilities, and education system.

"This remarkable suburb manages to hold on to its historic charms while also stepping decisively into the 21st century," Maria Gatea of Storage-Cafe wrote. "Downton Burlington is teeming with historic buildings, art installations, shops and restaurants, cultural centers and other local businesses that turn it into a vibrant space where you can find almost anything you might want."

WBZ NewsRadio spoke with some Burlington residents for their thoughts on the suburb's sparkling reputation.

"I think it makes sense, there’s a lot of stuff here, but you can still get around pretty easily without the city congestion," one resident said.

"Yeah, it’s got everything," another resident added. "You can work here, you can play here, and that’s why I think it’s popular."

"It’s got a lot of good restaurants, a lot of shopping, a good hospital," a resident told WBZ.

Newton, Wakefield, Waltham, Woburn, Dedham, Brookline, Norwood, Hudson, and Lynnfield rounded out the top ten.
