Cambridge Police Arrest Rooftop Protestors At Raytheon Technologies

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — On Monday, officials had to deploy a ladder to reach protestors that had allegedly trespassed their way onto the roof of Raytheon Technologies in Cambridge.

The Cambridge Police Department said that another 20 to 30 individuals were outside the building on Moulton Street. Police said that the small group of protestors on the roof were up there for nearly four hours, as officers attempted to escort them off the building.

The CPD said that the rooftop protestors had locked themselves together and used smoke devices.

Officials said that the five chained protestors refused to cooperate and were later arrested and charged with breaking and entering daytime for a felony, vandalizing property, and trespassing. Following their arrest, the remaining protestors left the area, police said.

The defendants were scheduled to be arraigned in Cambridge District Court.
