BROOKLINE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Less than 48 hours apart from each other, two separate cars crashed on top of the Green Line on two different T branches in Boston and Brookline.

First, early Sunday morning, a vehicle crashed onto the Green Line, this time on the C branch tracks near Beacon Street and Strathmore Road.

In this case, the Massachusetts Transportation Bay Authority Transit Police says the driver told them that they were scrolling through Facebook when their vehicle went through a barrier and onto the rails. Transit Police say they are seeking charges.

Officials say the driver, a 22-year-old from Ashland, was moving at a high rate of speed and ignored a red light, crashing into a traffic pole and "somehow" landed on the Green Line tracks. According to police, the driver is going to be charged for open to endanger, speeding, and a red light violation. There were no injuries in this incident, officials said.
