Dog Injured In Three-Car Crash In Cohasset, Mass. Expected To Fully Recover

COHASSET, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A dog was injured in a three-car crash in Cohasset, Mass. on Friday morning.

Police say a 65-year-old man driving a Mack dump truck rear-ended a car on Route 3A, traveling at a high rate of speed. A German Shepherd was in a steel crate in the back of the car, which got partially crushed by the impact.

Cohasset Firefighters and Paramedics rescued the dog from the wreckage and transported by Hull Animal Control to a local veterinarian. The dog sustained some cuts and bruises but is expected to make a full recovery.

The Mack truck driver received a criminal citation for negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failure to drive within marked lanes, failure to wear a seatbelt, and failure to have flares in a commercial vehicle. The Cohasset landscaping contractor who owned the truck received a citation for allowing an uninspected commercial vehicle on a public way.
