SALEM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Massachusetts is now home to some dogs that were part of the largest animal cruelty case ever in South Carolina.
The Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem, Mass. said 20 dogs were transported to Massachusetts this past Saturday from South Carolina. Three of the dogs were sized as part of the animal cruelty case.
The shelter said beagles Giblet and Biscuit, as well as hound mix Hermes were found in unsanitary enclosures with no access to food and water.

"These dogs are full of hope and definitely have been have been resilient and are excited to join a new family," Mike Keiley, Director of Adoptions of the MSPCA, said. "I'm excited that we're able to help a little bit with this case that South Carolina dealt with."
Biscuit and Giblet are currently at the MSPCA-Angell at Nevins Farm in Methuen. They are awaiting dental surgery. Hermes is at the Northeast Animal Shelter recovering from mass removal and neuter surgery. All three dogs will be available for adoption once they recover.
