Teen Killed In Dorchester Shooting Identified; 17-Year-Old Charged

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston Police have identified the teen shot and killed in Dorchester Wednesday, and said they've arrested another teen in the shooting.

Kareem Garnett, Jr., 18 of Dorchester, was found with gunshot wounds around noon on Cameron Street. He was taken to an area hospital, where he died.

Later that night, Boston Police arrested a 17-year-old male charged with manslaughter, unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, possession of a loaded firearm, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling.

A second teen, a 16-year-old Dorchester male, was arrested earlier at the scene of the shooting after being found with a loaded gun. Police initially said he was 15, but corrected his age Thursday.
