HILTON HEAD, South Carolina (WBZ NewsRadio) — An unusual finding on the shores of Hilton Head Island in South Carolina this week—a turtle with a pair of heads.

The bicephalic hatchling was found by seat turtle monitors working for Sea Turtle Patrol Hilton Head Island during a nest inventory.

The double head is the result of a genetic mutation, according to Marine Biologist Amber Kuehn. The turtle was named Squirt and Crush.

Squirt and Crush was released back into the ocean.
