DUXBURY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Reusable shopping bags are becoming more popular as people try to be more environmentally friendly and a kid from the South Shore designed some for a great cause.
Mateo Goldman from Duxbury is one talented kid. "I love doing art, art is who I am," said Mateo.
He just turned 13, and already has art for sale at some big retail chains. "I just love seeing my art around the HomeGoods stores, the Marshalls stores," said Mateo.
He was a Leukemia patient at Dana Farber and one day when he really needed a pick-me up, one staffer asked if he would be interested in designing a reusable shopping bag for HomeGoods.

Dozens of colored-pencils and three drawings later, the bags hit the shelves. The designs include bright colors, and one even has a waterfall on it.
The bags only cost a dollar and half of the proceeds benefit the Jimmy Fund.
And Goldman's mom Mandy shared some good news, "he is cancer free, thriving and doing awesome."
Mandy added she is extremely proud of her son and all his hard work.
