Everett Announces Drive-Thru Winter Wonderland Sunday Night

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Santa Claus will make a rare pre-Christmas appearance in Everett this weekend to take part in the city's Winter Wonderland drive-thru event.

The route for the Winter Wonderland, sponsored by Mayor Carlo DeMaria and First Lady of Everett Stacy DeMaria, will go around Wehner Park on Sunday December 20th from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

"The event will allow Everett families to join in the festivities of the holidays while remaining safe and healthy," Mayor Carlo DeMaria said. "The Winter Wonderland is meant to bright spirits and spread the holiday cheer. It will include live music, festive lights, and a special appearance from Santa Claus and other holiday characters."

The event will start at the entrance of Lynn Street from Broadway. Cars will line up on the northbound lane of Broadway from Ferry Street, then take a left onto Shute Street. To exit, vehicles may take a left onto Broadway heading southbound or a right onto Broadway heading northbound.

Residents are being asked to stay in their vehicles at all times and to keep their windows closed. Should residents open their windows, they are being asked to wear a mask.
