BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky will throw the first pitch at Fenway Park on Saturday, as the Red Sox play their first game at full-capacity in over a year.
The Red Sox announced Friday Walensky would throw the ceremonial first pitch against the Miami Marlins at 4:10 p.m.

Before taking on her position with the CDC, the Peabody native served as Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital and was a Harvard Medical School professor.
Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker announced last week that on May 29, 2021, Massachusetts will drop all virus restrictions -- including capacity limits and the statewide mask mandate.
Fenway Park said the pre-entry health screening will no longer be required of fans.
