FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The New England Patriots unveiled the massive new video board in the north end zone of Gillette Stadium on Friday.

The new 22,200-square-foot curved-radius video board is the centerpiece of the stadium's $250 million renovation project. It measures 370 feet by 60 feet, is nearly five times larger than the board it replaced, and is the biggest outdoor video board at a sports venue in the United States.

"It will make the stadium louder and we are thrilled for what it will do for the overall game day experience," said Kraft Sports & Entertainment chief operating officer Jim Nolan at Friday evening's unveiling.

Among the other renovations are a new lighthouse above the north end zone board that will be 22 stories high with a 360-degree observation deck at the top, replacing the 100-foot-tall lighthouse that was torn down in March 2022.

All renovations are expected to be completed before the Patriots' home opener of the 2023 NFL season on Sept. 10.
