METHUEN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Goats galore. That's the message from the MSPCA at Nevins Farm, which is waiving adoption fees on its goats April 1 and 2.

The organization says it seized about a hundred of the goats from a single property in Dighton last year. The MSPCA still has 47 of the goats, which it says is far more than it usually handles at Nevins Farm.

To make matters more challenging, some of the goats were pregnant when they were seized, which meant even more of the animals for the MSPCA to take care of.

"We generally never had more than a couple with us, and they were always adopted quickly,” said Mike Keiley, MSPCA-Angell's director of adoption centers and programs. This is the MSPCA's first goat adoptathon.

Breeds at the farm include Nigerian Dwarfs, Alpines, and La Manchas.

Adoption fees usually run between $100 and $250.
