QUINCY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — As spring nears with an official start date of March 19th, we have been seeing a mini stretch of above average temperatures and abundant sunshine these past couple of days, which for those who love the sport, means it’s time to hit the golf course! While the sun may be shining, there are still some fierce winds to be reckoned with at President’s Golf Course in Quincy, but that has not deterred New England golfers or the business, because as of this week, President’s is officially open for the season! They may not have the carts ready to go just yet, but people already have their tee times booked.

“Well, if you love golf and you want to groove your swing and the weather permits, rather than stay at home doing nothing, this is the place to come,” said a golfer at President’s.

“This whole winter [weather wise] has just been weird,” said Bruce from Hanover.

For many New Englanders, adjusting to the recent trend of mild winters with little to no snow has been odd at best, but there seems to be a silver lining, as the fairways and greens might just be active a little sooner than normal if the mild weather continues.

If you decide to brave the wind and hit the course, be sure to dress for it!
