BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Harvard University graduate Nick DiGiovanni is returning to the "MasterChef" kitchen as a mentor for Season 11.
The 25-year-old landed third place in Season 10 of Gordon Ramsey's hit show and he was the youngest finalist in the show’s history. DiGiovanni has since stayed busy as a social media star.
Across all of his social media accounts, he has close to 10 million followers— a majority of them are on TikTok, where he has 5.9 million followers. He specializes in making home cooking tutorials. The first video that sparked his social media fame was of him making a chocolate bar.
“Restaurant work is like a sport because you have to think quickly and be a team player, otherwise the kitchen doesn’t work,” DiGiovanni told the Harvard Gazette.
DiGiovanni graduated from Harvard the same year he started filming "MasterChef." He brought his love for food into the classroom, by proposing a curriculum to the school that combined chemistry, climate science, anthropology, public health, and the business of food.
"For his thesis, DiGiovanni analyzed data on carbon emissions in 36 global restaurants from Singapore to San Francisco," the Gazette stated.
He will join top three contestant Sarah Faherty and season 10 winner Dorian Hunter. "MasterChef" airs Wednesday nights from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Fox.
