CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Harvard University's Hasty Pudding Theatricals has announced its 2024 Man of the Year Award will go to Academy Award-nominated Irish actor Barry Keoghan.

Keoghan's role in "The Banshees of Inisherin" earned him Oscar and Golden Globe nominations for best supporting actor in 2022. His recent role in "Saltburn" earned him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama.

Keoghan is also known for starring in "Dunkirk," "Eternals," "The Killing of a Sacred Deer," "The Batman," "Chernobyl," and the upcoming Apple TV+ miniseries "Masters of the Air."

Hasty Pudding's Man of the Year ceremony will take place Friday, Feb. 2 at Farkas Hall. Keoghan will attend a roast, be presented with his Pudding Pot, then watch the debut performance of the theatrical company's new musical "Heist Heist Baby."

Previous Man of the Year Award recipients include Tom Hanks, Robert De Niro, Harrison Ford, Samuel L. Jackson, Clint Eastwood, and last year's recipient Bob Odenkirk.

On Thursday, the Boston Globe reported that Hasty Pudding was postponing its 2024 Woman of the Year ceremony—originally scheduled for Friday—due to "unforeseen conflicts." The award's recipient and a rescheduled date for the festivities, including a roast and parade through Harvard Square, have not yet been announced.
