BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Celtics star Jayson Tatum was diagnosed with COVID-19 in early January and he is still suffering from lingering symptoms.
Tatum told reporters after Tuesday night's victory against the Portland Trail Blazers “I for sure feel better. I don’t feel necessarily the same before I got it when I was playing. I definitely know there’s a difference. But I feel pretty good.”
The 23-year-old has been using an inhaler before every game to help him "open up [his] lungs."
Before testing positive on Jan. 9, Tatum had never used an inhaler before.
After missing three weeks of the season, he returned on Jan. 25.
While Tatum said he feels close to "100 percent" again, he doesn't want to give up the inhaler until he is fully recovered.
"There's no exact timetable," Tatum said to reporters. "[It's] just when I feel comfortable enough and I think I don't need it."
Since returning in late January, Tatum's performance has steadily grown stronger; against Portland, he hit the clinching three-pointer with 8.5 seconds to go along with nine rebounds and five assists.
The Celtic's have won the past six of their seven games.
