BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Celtics point guard Kemba Walker was ejected for the first time in his NBA career during Wednesday's 129-114 loss at home to the San Antonio Spurs.

With just under six minutes left in the third quarter, Walker was knocked to the ground by a moving screen from Spurs' power forward LaMarcus Aldridge in front of referee Evan Scott.

Scott did not call a foul, prompting Walker to start shouting at him. Scott issued Walker a technical foul as a result.

"That was a f---ing foul, man," Walker appeared to say, causing Scott to immediately issue a second technical and eject Walker from the game.

"That's his choice," Walker said when asked about Scott ejecting him. "It's on those guys to make a decision, and he made it. I mean, it's the first time I've been ejected in my whole life. I am a two-time sportsmanship award winner as well. So maybe I should get a little leeway. I watch a lot of basketball. I've seen other guys doing a lot worse. But like I said, the choice was his."

Celtics coach Brad Stevens was also hit with a technical after his furious reaction to Scott's decision.

In the wake of the ejection, a fan threw a can of hard seltzer onto the court directly over the Spurs' bench and nearly hit some of their players.

"It almost hit me," said Spurs guard Bryn Forbes. "I was shocked."

The fan was identified as Justin Arnold, 22, of Everett. He was immediately arrested.

"We can’t have that," commented Celtics forward Gordon Hayward. "I’ve never had that happen, I don’t think. But certainly, no matter what happens on the court, we can’t have anybody throwing stuff from the fans."

Stevens reportedly apologized to Spurs coach Gregg Popovich after the game.
