Lynnfield Whole Foods Closes After Employees Test Positive For COVID-19

LYNNFIELD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Whole Foods in Lynnfield is temporarily closed after several employees test positive for COVID-19.

In a statement to WBZ-TV, the store says they learned about the cases over the past few weeks, and that their decision comes “out of an abundance of caution.”

It’s currently unclear exactly when the store will reopen, but it is supposed to happen in the coming days.

Whole Foods also wrote in the statement that they’ve “been performing daily enhanced sanitation measures, have had multiple professional deep cleanings and disinfections throughout the facility, and are following the guidance of health and food safety authorities.”

WBZ-TV reports that Whole Foods employees will still receive a paycheck during this closure.

This comes after other stores, including several Walmarts, across the Commonwealth were shut down due to clusters of COVID-19 cases.
