YARMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A baby duckling and it's concerned mother were reunited on Thursday after a rescue from officials in Yarmouth.
The team effort included members of the Yarmouth Police Department, Yarmouth Fire, and the Departments of Natural Resources and Public Works.
Officials were called to a drain in the middle of Valley Road at around 2 p.m. after a caller reported that a duck had been pacing around a drain and quacking.
DPW workers cleared the drain while police and fire crews blocked off that section of the road.
The rescue took nearly two hours as first responders tried to catch the duckling with a net while the mother called out to it -- until the two were finally reunited.
