BROCKTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting inside the Hibachi Sushi Supreme Buffet in Brockton Friday evening.

Police said officers responded to the restaurant on Crescent Street at around 7:25 p.m. and found a man with life-threatening injuries.

The victim was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

He was later identified as Joe Araujo, 22, of Brockton, officials said.

On Saturday, the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office released footage from inside the restaurant at the time of the shooting. The video shows a person wearing a hooded sweatshirt walk up to a table, pull out a gun, and fire at the table.

Other restaurant patrons—including young children—scramble for safety as the gunman rushes out of the building.

Officials said Araujo appears to have been targeted, and the shooting was not a random act of violence.

Police said no arrests have been made at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Brockton Police Department.
