BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Marriott Long Wharf hotel is now closed after most cases of COVID-19 in the state have been connected to last month's Biogen meeting there, according to the Boston Globe.

Biogen, a Cambridge-based biotech company, held a conference at that hotel on February 26 and 27. Of the 95 cases of coronavirus in the state, 77 have been traced back to the conference.

“We appreciate and support the efforts of our public health authorities as they continue their important work to mitigate potential spread of the novel coronavirus,” The Globe reports Marriott said in a statement. “The safety and well-being of our guests is of paramount importance to us.”

It remains unclear when the hotel will reopen.
