MBTA Police Arrest Man For Allegedly Assaulting Child At Park Street

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — At around 7:30 p.m. Friday night, Transit Police assigned to the Central District responded to a call that reported a four-year-old child had been indecently assaulted by a man at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's Park Street Station.

Arriving officers say that the mother of the child told them an unknown man had indecently assaulted her child while they were standing on the westbound side of the Green Line platform. The mother said she confronted the assailant, taking his photograph with her phone.

Several officers were able to use that photo and the testimony of witnesses to track down the suspect in the area of 48 Glenville Avenue. There, police arrested 66-year-old George Francois of Boston, charging him with Indecent Assault & Battery on a Child under 14. Officials say that Francois made incriminating statements to the arresting officers.
