BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The rear of an out of service Boston transit bus caught fire on Thursday at around 3:10 p.m., and hospitalized two workers for potential smoke inhalation.
On the heels of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Orange Line fire, a bus that had just returned to the Arborway Yard in Jamaica Plain went up in smoke despite efforts from employees to quell the flames. A spokesperson for the MBTA told WBZ NewsRadio in a statement that transit personnel tried to put out the fire but were unsuccessful.
The Boston Fire Department responded and extinguished the flames.

The fire comes just weeks after the Orange Line caught fire over the Mystic River, where one woman jumped from the bridge into the water. She was uninjured.
Officials say the cause of the fire is under investigation.
